Job Description

Your New Company

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading UK law firm client who are recruiting for an Associate Solicitor with conveyancing experience to join their Dispute Resolution team in Belfast. You will form part of a dynamic local team with ambitious plans to develop - with the support of a large UK-wide infrastructure behind you.

Your New Role

As the Associate on the Dispute Resolution team in Belfast, you will use your conveyancing expertise working with large national and multi-national corporations, High Street banks, financial institutions, and FTSE 250 clients.

In this role your duties will include title rectification, financial services and real estate litigation. You will manage a caseload of property and conveyancing related disputes from instruction through to resolution. Advise lenders and financial institution clients on title defects, mortgage fraud, professional negligence and property transaction disputes. Handle disputes arising from residential and commercial conveyancing transactions. Investigate complex title issues and advising on potential litigation strategy. Manage high volume sale matters whilst maintaining excellent client service standards. Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and settlement documentation. Act in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings where appropriate. Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to identify commercially pragmatic solutions. Support business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Belfast team.

What You Need To Succeed

As the Associate on the Dispute Resolution team, you will be a qualified Solicitor (from NQ level and above), ideally in Northern Ireland (although other jurisdictions may be considered such as the Republic of Ireland & England & Wales).

Have detailed working knowledge of conveyancing process as the role will primarily relate to the sale of recovered properties on behalf of lenders/ financial institutions.

Possess experience in the sale of recovered properties is not essential but would be helpful.

Have an ability to progress matters independently and be able to work well as part of a broader team.

What You'll Receive In Return

Alongside a very competitive remuneration package, high quality work, a supportive environment, you will also receive an extensive flexible benefits programme.

You will work in a state-of-the-art office providing space for a collaborative working culture and a fantastic environment to enable a mix of office and home working, as required by your caseload.

As the first Top 50 law firm to achieve the Investors in People Platinum Standard. These standards are embedded in everything our client does and form the foundation of their success.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, confirmation of employment will be subject to a variety of checks which will be carried out once an offer of employment is accepted.  These checks will include employment references covering the last 5 years, proof of ID, proof of address covering the last 5 years, Personnel Vetting credit search (which will only highlight insolvency or County Court Judgments - should any adverse data show on the Personnel Vetting search then any offer of employment made will be withdrawn).

A DBS check (previously known as a Criminal Records check) and check of social media will also be carried out.
