An award winning Offshore Law Firm law firm is recruiting for an ambitious Litigation Associate to join their impressive team in Jersey.
Our client is instructed by a wide range of financial institutions, fiduciary service providers, commercial entities and private individuals based worldwide with their expert teams involved in a broad spectrum of litigation work. This includes trust disputes, insolvencies, boardroom battles, fraud and asset recovery, regulatory enforcement and arbitration.
Your New Role
As the Litigation Associate you will work as part of the team providing a full range of litigation services to the firms client's. This will entail supporting the partners and taking principal responsibility as appropriate for cases involving a variety of contentious work, including contentious trust and company, cross border fraud and insolvency.
- You will deliver excellent quality, timely and professional client service.
- Liaise with clients and provide legal advice as delegated by the partners.
- Manage and coordinate client work as delegated by the partners, including researching, writing opinions, reviewing documentation, drafting and preparing cases for court.
- Draft, review, summarise and check legal documents, forms and correspondence for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform legal research and analysis.
- Prepare reports and correspondence.
- Ensure matters are successfully opened and closed in compliance with the firm's CDD and AML procedures.
- Manage time recording, billing and collections efficiently and in line with firm policy.
- Update the Client Relationship Management system.
- Assist with final letters and file closings when required.
- Support, motivate, manage and develop junior team members and support staff, including paralegals, trainees and administrative colleagues, to help them achieve their development goals.
- Work with colleagues from other teams and offices on multidisciplinary and international projects.
- Take responsibility for a wide range of tasks and projects as required by partners in the group.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of business development plans, in line with the firm's and team's strategy, helping to attract more work from existing clients and develop new client relationships.
- Support new ventures, identify cross-selling opportunities and seek ways to develop the firm's services.
- Carry out non-chargeable activities to build the firm's knowledge and external reputation through seminars, articles, presentations and related activities.
- Promote and strengthen the firm's brand, including attendance at functions and client events.
What You Need To Succeed
As the Litigation Associate you will be;
A commonwealth qualified lawyer jurisdiction with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in Litigation & Contentious matters.
You will be ambitious and personable with an ability to work directly with clients.
Have strong technical ability.
